Yacine Bai

Yacine Bai is a native French speaker, originally from Cote d’Ivoire. As a first-generation immigrant, Yacine grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science with a concentration in Global Poverty. While at UMD, she completed internships with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service, the Congressional Hunger Center, and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. Upon graduation, Yacine joined the data and measurement team at Family Planning 2030. Throughout the four years at FP2030, Yacine grew professionally and represented the data team for international meetings in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Thailand, Tanzania, Togo, Rwanda, and Kenya. Yacine is excited to join the Payne cohort and start graduate school to accelerate her career in the foreign service. She is passionate about elevating the needs of women and preventing adverse maternal health outcomes. In her free time, Yacine loves to read, try new recipes, and spend time with loved ones.
