Erica Ramirez

Originally from the Midwest, Erica moved to Washington, D.C., to attend American University (AU), obtaining two undergraduate degrees: a B.A. in International Studies from the School of International Service and a B.A. in Law and Society from the School of Public Affairs. In her last year at AU, Erica was a recipient of the U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship and studied abroad in the Netherlands at Maastricht University to explore international and comparative law. Erica has managed U.S. government-funded agreements with international organizations, NGOs, and local organizations at the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Erica hopes to harness the goodwill of the American public to empower vulnerable communities globally through localized initiatives that bolster human agency and dignity. Erica is pursuing a master’s degree in international affairs and is an avid baker, musician, and writer in her free time.
