Angell Kim is a Korean-American born and raised in Texas. She first studied at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and then transferred to the University of Texas at Austin. She received her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Global Studies with a Minor in Latin American Studies.

During her undergraduate studies, she interned for Texas congressman Michael C. Burgess and for a legislative research organization. Angell also volunteered extensively with Rotary International. After graduation, she worked for an international medical device consulting firm in project management for the Asia-Pacific region before joining the Peace Corps as an education and community development volunteer in the northern coast of Colombia. She remained in Colombia after her service and worked as a legal assistant for an NGO that advocates for women’s reproductive rights in Bogotá.

Angell enjoys playing badminton and volleyball, baking sweet treats, and spending time with family and friends. She will pursue a master’s degree in Public Administration and aspires to be a Program and Project Development officer for USAID.
